Michele's Ice Cream & Sandwich

Shady Khalil is the owner of Michele’s Ice Cream and Sandwich in Weymouth, MA. In this interview, learn how Shady found a banking partnership that excels due to shared values of community and banking services that help his business succeed.

Tell us about the mission of Michele’s Ice Cream. – Michele’s is a fun and welcoming place where guests can enjoy great ice cream and food while spending time with family and friends. We’re a local, family-owned business with the goal of providing quality products, great customer service, and an environment where everyone feels welcome.

How important is it to bank with a financial institution that shares the same values of community commitment? – It’s very important. Our customers are our neighbors, friends, and local families. We love supporting local events, schools, and community organizations whenever we can. As a small business owner, I want to work with people who understand the community. South Shore Bank genuinely cares about helping local businesses succeed. When your Bank shares those same values, it feels more like a partnership than just a business relationship.

What services and products do the Bank provide to help your business succeed? – South Shore Bank helps us with our everyday banking needs. They’ve always been easy to work with. Their online banking services make managing my business convenient, and whenever I’ve had questions, their team has been responsive and supportive. Having that level of service gives me confidence and lets me focus on running the business.

Would you recommend South Shore Bank? – Definitely. I’ve had great experiences working with the Bank. They’re professional, responsive, and they really care about their clients and the local community. As a small business owner, it’s nice to have a Bank that understands your needs and is there to support you as your business grows.
