Open a South Shore Bank Account.
Move your direct deposit.
Simply download and complete the Direct Deposit Change Notice form. Bring this form to your employer’s Human Resources department to authorize the change.

Change Automatic Payment Deductions.
If you have automatic payments that you would like withdrawn from your South Shore Bank account, simply download and complete the Automatic Payment Change Notice form and send this to each vendor. Here is a list of area service providers and their contact information for your reference.

Close your old account.
Once your South Shore Bank account has been opened and your direct deposit is being properly credited, you should notify your previous institution to close your account, using the Authorization to Close Account form. You should bring this form to South Shore Bank so we can notarize it for you. It is typically a good idea to have your former account remain open until your statement arrives to verify that all of your checks have cleared before closing the account. You should immediately destroy any ATM / Debit cards as well as your remaining checks. If you bring your checks to us, we’ll be happy to shred them for you.
