Buying a Home

You've found the perfect home, now what? Before you can settle into your dream home, you'll need to do a couple things to get you there. Our team of Loan Representatives are here to help. Understanding the Mortgage Process from beginning (loan application) to end (loan closing) will help alleviate some of the stress that naturally comes with this momentous occasion, so that you enjoy a smooth closing on your loan to make your dream house, your home.

Loan Application

As a local community bank, we strive to make things easy for you. You can complete your loan application online, or meet with one of our Loan Representative for a more personalized experience. Our team is ready to answer all of your questions, and give you tailored financing options that get you towards your goals!

Appraisal and Credit Report

We will order an appraisal to verify the value of the property you are purchasing. A credit report is ordered for each borrower to determine creditworthiness.

Application Process

During your application process, we need to verify a couple of things in order to make a loan decision! We'll ask about your employment, income, assets, debts, credit and any additional financial information to make sure you get the best rate possible.

Underwriting and Approval

The process can take some time, so when we've made a final decision about your loan, we'll let you know right away!  If your application is approved, you will receive a written commitment letter detailing the terms of the mortgage approval. Any additional information or documents required will be listed in your commitment letter.

Loan Closing Schedule

Our mortgage team will work with one of our professional local law firms to schedule your loan closing. We will work with you to ensure the closing date, time and location is convenient for you. All final loan documents are signed at the closing.

Required Items to Bring to Loan Closing

Once you're ready to close on a loan, we'll need a couple more things to complete the process. Our team will let you know which documentation to bring with you based on loan type when the time comes.

Loan Closing or “Settlement”

Finally, it's time to sign! Just sign each document where necessary, grab the keys to your new house, and begin the next exciting phase of your life!
