What is TLS?

Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a protocol that provides privacy and data integrity between two communicating applications. It's the most widely deployed security protocol used today, and is used for Web browsers and other applications that require data to be securely exchanged over a network.

What is a browser?

A browser is software that enables you to visit webpages and use web applications such as Online Banking, eStatements, and Bill Pay.

What is browser compatibility?

It is the way a web page looks in different web browsers. Each browser reads code differently, the major browsers which ensure your Online Banking is working with South Shore Bank’s digital programs include Internet Explorer(IE), Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari and Mobile device browsers.

What will happen if I do not update my browser?

You may see random error messages. You may not be able to get into your eStatements, access Bill Pay, look at your profile page, or view check images.

What should I do in advance?

Always keep your browser up to date. You may use this link to Check Your Browser to identify which browser you are using.
